Comment/Review/Plot summary
While Ben is presenting new information about John Wilkes Booth and the 18 pages missing from Booth's diary, one man stands up and presents a missing page of John Wilkes Booth's diary. Thomas Gates, Ben's great-grandfather, is mentioned in the page. It shows that Ben's great-grandfather could have been a person involved with Abraham Lincoln's murder. When doing more research, the conspiracy takes Ben, Abigail, and Riley to Buckingham Palace(which they break into). It takes them to a book in the White House(which they break into also)and they even steal a page from the book. But in order to see more from the book, their choice is either get elected president or kidnap the President of the United States. Which do they choose? It's obvious. The conspiracy then crosses to Mount Rushmore and they even mention the JFK conspiracy. Could Ben clear his family's name? Or will his family be known as the descendant of Abraham Licoln's murderer?

In the summer of 1935 Briony Tallis, a 13-year-old from a well-to-do English family, is a budding writer. She hopes to have her cousins Lola and the twins Jackson and Pierrot enact a play of her devising during a family get-together, but the cast is hopeless. During the day, however, she spies a servant's son, Robbie Turner, apparently making her older sister Cecilia strip, and comes upon an obscene love letter he has written her. Briony's fertile imagination conjures all sorts of awful things, and when her cousin Lola is raped, our heroine is pretty sure she saw Robbie do it. He is sent to prison, much over Cecilia's protests, gets out early to fight in France where he is caught up in the confusion of the retreat at Dunkirk, and over the years matters sort out more or less between the estranged family members.

Comment/Review
Shane Fahey (Josh Hutcherson) is struggling with a bit more on his shoulders than other kids his age. He is being raised by his single father, Connor (Bruce Greenwood), who is a the captain of a run-down firehouse known as Dogpatch. Connor is often working, and both father and son are struggling with feelings of bitterness and guilt over the death of Shane's uncle, the former captain of Dogpatch.

One day while ditching school, Shane runs into another soul who is down on his luck. Rex used to be a doggie super-star, but after he survived a sky-diving accident, he became lost and his owner thinks he's dead. Rex angers Shane by foiling his escape from two firefighters who saw him skipping school.

When the dog is later rescued from a fire by the Dogpatch team, Shane is given the responsibility of finding the lost "mutt's" owner. It doesn't take Shane long to realize that there is something different about Rex, though.

Rex's training in stunts and dog tricks made him an amazing actor, but little did anyone know that the dog's talents would be of such use in the real world. When Rex helps save another firefighter, he not only wins Shane's affection, but he also gives Dogpatch a new mascot, and new hope.

On the whole, Firehouse Dog is an exciting and fun story for kids. But, since the movie is obviously aimed at kids, one has to wonder about a few of the jokes that really didn't need to be there.

While the movie doesn't drag or lose momentum, it is 111 minutes long, which means very young kids will need a lot more popcorn and candy to make it through the entire thing.

Ritchie Donovan (Dorff) is a professional thief whose luck has just run out. Movie story start In New York City, circa 2009, a cure for cancer was found that put the disease into turnaround for any patient that received the treatment. With this landmark discovery, however, came a catastrophic price, unleashing a physical and airborne virus that turned the infected into vampiric creatures of the night. Three years later, Manhattan is a deserted wasteland with one immune survivor, scientist Robert Neville (Will Smith). As far as he knows, he is the last man left on Earth, roaming around the city during the day with dog Sam and holing up in his home after dark, when the infected come out to prey. Haunted by his final tragic memories of wife Zoe (Salli Richardson) and daughter Marley (Willow Smith), Robert has thus far been unsuccessful in his attempts to find an antibody for the virus in his basement laboratory. There may not even be one.

Loosely based on the classic novel by Richard Matheson and the previous 1971 adaptation, "The Omega Man," "I Am Legend" is a frightening film. What gets under your skin, though, has nothing to do with the conventional horror elements involving, for lack of a better word, the vampires, who have been brought to life not terribly convincingly through CG effects. Indeed, the movie might have been better off excising these bad guys altogether and concentrating on Robert's eerily plausible plight in the face of mankind's extermination. That, above all else, is where "I Am Legend" excels, and it is the solitary day-to-day moments and rituals in the devastated lives of Robert and trusty canine companion that are most unnervingly effective and dramatically potent.read the rest of movie review at themovieboy

"Alvin and the Chipmunks" first rose to fame with their hit 1958 holiday chestnut, "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)," but more widely came to prominence in the '80s with a popular daytime cartoon. Seventeen years after going off the air, the franchise receives a belabored jumpstart with this live-action/CGI feature film. In today's twenty-first century world, kids will not be familiar with the brand and will only be interested because it's about cute woodland creatures who talk, sing and dance, while childless adults will only seek it out for the nostalgia value. Neither demographic needs to bother. Like 2004's threadbare "Garfield: The Movie" and 2006's odious sequel, "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties," "Alvin and the Chipmunks" clunkily translates to the big-screen with maybe one-third of the charm of its previous incarnations. With the best parts given away in the television ads and trailers, the only things left to see are some overlong song performances and a hypocritical plot that derides against mass-market corporations, product placement and materialism even as the picture itself is an example of all three.

David "Dave" Seville (Jason Lee) is a down-on-his-luck songwriter who has the worst professional day of his life when he is kicked to the curb by music producer Ian Hawke (David Cross), he of hip label Jett Records. Returning home with a basket of bread and three stowaways inside, Dave is at first flabbergasted at the sight of a trio of jabbering chipmunk brothers—charismatic leader Alvin (voiced by Justin Long); the bespectacled and super-smart Simon (voiced by Matthew Gray Gubler), and the hefty, sweet, food-loving Theodore (voiced by Jesse McCartney)—and then gets fed up when they turn his house into a tornado of chaos. What he is surprised to discover is their talent for singing, helping to inspire him to write a surefire hit in "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)." Suddenly, Ian is interested in Dave's work again, but it comes with a price when the chipmunks, by now very much a beloved fixture of Dave's family, are turned into overnight sensations and swept away on a concert tour that they are too young and not ready for. read more review at The Movie Boy review

You know that feeling when you walk out of a movie and think "God, that was just such a great film"? It takes a lot for me to think that... especially when it's a movie about two men who have cancer... but this movie really did it for me, as well as everyone else in the theater.

I saw the movie at its first ever screening in Pasadena and it was just wonderful... even with temp music and unfinished visual effects! Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were truly amazing together - it's a film about cancer, and yet the two were able to balance the comedy and the drama of the script in such the perfect way that the audience loved every moment of the movie. The script was quite original, which was such a breath of fresh air, and the acting couldn't have been any better.

I would recommend this film to anyone and everyone - as it was such a feel-good movie that made you both laugh and cry at the same time - something you don't come across too often. Not only did the audience applaud the movie at the end, but EVERY single viewer who stayed to give comments agreed that the movie was "Excellent"... I can't imagine how often that happens. I'd be surprised if this movie isn't up for some Oscar or another come next year. also see completed review at themovieboy web page

The Seventh movie direction of Bob Redford, Lions for Lambs is a movie about conscience and the effects of politics and the government in society, it also touches several aspects of the American society, such as student issues, the manipulation of media for political propaganda ends.

It also invites the viewer to reflect on very important ethical and moral issues of modern society.

Great Cast and good direction but I think the most important part of this movie it's the message but as I said before, you'll either loath it or think about it.

Comment/Review
... or two. If you haven't read anything about the story (as I did, before I went to see it at the Fantasy Film Festival in Stuttgart/Germany), than you'll probably be surprised by the twists and turns this takes. The title does suggest something, but before this concept starts to annoy you, you will get the first twist in the story. I thought it was a refreshing (new?) take on things. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's not by the numbers either ...

At least not entirely. And that's what made me like this little horror flick ... maybe a little bit too much and I should've only given it 7/10, but (at the moment) I stay with this rating, just because it was (a little) different than other (horror) movies I've seen :o)

After seeing The Rundown some odd sensation in me suggested that if director Peter Berg had been more interested in surveying his characters in his ultra-stinker debut, Very Bad Things that he could have had a masterpiece on his hands. With that assumption stated it is hard to believe that The Rundown is one of those rare films that physically pits its heroes above their action. Allowing a story to build around natural causes instead of setting up backdrops in order to initiate planned action sequences.

Comment/Review
A truly great horror film, with outstanding performances by both Samuel L. Jackson and Cusack. Well worth your money and time. If you are a Stephen King fan, then you will love this movie. I also suggest that you pick up and read the short story Room 1408. The movie truly captures the essence of the story, and when watching it, you'll think "Wow... this is definitely a Stephen King movie."

The film is so convincing that I couldn't believe that King didn't write the screenplay himself. This is a wonderful way to spend a few hours; I'm definitely going to see this one again.

This film also breaks away from the (at least recent) standard of having a crummy, thrown together story with copious amounts of gore thrown in in place of plot. This movie has an excellent story that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Comment/Review

I admit that I came into the theater completely biased against Pokémon,
and I still hate nearly everything about it... with the exception of this film
(and the opening theme for Johto League Champions.)

Admittedly, the movie was probably pumped out of the studio in order to rake in more and more cash (and it worked) but somehow, the writer managed to keep a stong, albeit thinly veiled anti-violence sentiment.

There were also some acts of cheesy heroism I found downright heartwarming. Also notable is the incredible magnitude of the backgrounds. The flying palace was absolutely stunning. I liked it. But, you probably won't. Don't watch it.

I'm Not There is a biographical film reflecting the life of musician Bob Dylan. It depicts the iconic singer-songwriter through seven distinct stages of his life by using six different actors/actress (Marcus Carl Franklin, Ben Whishaw, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Cate Blanchett). It was co-written and directed by Todd Haynes and also features David Cross, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, and Richie Havens. The film has received much press for telling its story using non-traditional techniques, similar to the poetic narrative style of Dylan's songwriting. "The film is going to be inspired by Dylan's music and his ability to re-create and re-imagine himself time and time again," according to key producer, Christine Vachon.

Comment/Review
We had the opportunity to see the film and engage in a Q&A with writer/director Billy Ray.

The movie was so tightly written and portrayed events in such a way that in a very short amount of time you understood so much more than was covered by all of the books and newspaper accounts of the incident involving Robert Hanssen.

The acting was fantastic with Chris Cooper way out in front giving another amazing performance.

The Q&A with Billy Ray revealed a man who is so skilled at his craft and so methodical and strategic yet at the same time plagued by unnecessary insecurity.

This film a must see!

On a mission to re-ignite the sun by detonating a bomb ("the size of Manhattan island", Cillian Murphy's physicist nods to American audiences and cause me to suffer horrible flashbacks to Armaggeddon's "it's the size of Texas" assessment) human lives are expendable and rationalized by rank. There are scientists, astronauts and various specialists on Icarus II who are all poised on the brink of sacrificing themselves for the greater good of mankind. Diverse in the sense that there are both men and women, and few characters are 'black or white' (morally, and physically), it does puzzle me that New Zealanders, Aussies and Irishmen have been arbitrarily converted into Americans. The crew is nevertheless highly impressive and professional, with a few minor exceptions for plot-propelling purposes, like when someone does something very stupid.

"Sunshine" movie is sporadically blemished by minor faults, such as when Murphy's Law is being followed a bit too rigorously to up the excitement. Luckily, all of this is washed away or camouflaged when Boyle serves up his next goosebumps-inducing, gasp-eliciting spectacle – be it a horror twist or an impossibly epic action stunt. On the topic of the former, and clearly the chiasma at which "Alien" comparisons have been drawn, there is a magnificently creepy horror/mystery vibe interlacing the story in space. On top of this, Danny Boyle also dabbles in existentialism (a little too much if you ask me), making this into one of the most ambitious sci-fi turns ever made. In this way, maybe "Sunshine" is not primed to collect awards or even serve as meat for mainstream Hollywood, but I think it's safe to crown it the "Alien" of the 21st century.

I hadn't seen or heard anything about this film. I got roped along. But must say I thought it was funny. It just made me smile. A lot.

Looked it up when I got home and it's only on in a few places!!?? But why? I suppose it might come across as being too smart/cynical which may account for some of the angry reviews I saw. But it is full of great lines and actually really warm and cheerful if you watch it all and take it in.

I don't claim to be an expert but to me this was a good one. A really good movie one. It's not on at the cinema I saw it at anymore - after one week. So maybe I'm in the minority!

Comment/Review
To be honest, I hadn't expected too much from "Final Destination 3" movie as the 2nd installment disappointed me. While the 1st part was refreshing and suspenseful, the following one was repetitive and went over the top. What about "Final Destination 3"? It's a some kind of combination of two previous installments. In the film seriousness coexists with comedy, while the latter is more frequent than the first. Comedy, most of all, stems from characters with very low IQ. One of them shouts with superiority something like "death will never defeat me" and then dies in most ridiculous way. Thus, the film is intentionally laughable at times. What's more, the flick abounds with awesome deaths and these quality gore scenes are probably the biggest virtues of this horror movie. Besides, the script is rather superficial and repetitive. I only liked an idea of photos depicting how victims will die. That's it. Other feature ideas were taken from previous parts. To sum up, this flick is worth watching especially with your mates.

And your time WILL be wasted ! Badly written, without any subtlety or desire to be realistic, this story of a bipolar woman accused of murdering her husband has no basis in reality. Unless you believe bad soap operas are realistic...

After spending 8 years in jail, June is released and goes on to stay at her rich sister's house until she can find a job. With the help of another ex-con, she soon unravels (without a lot of difficulty) the mystery of her husband's murder, making any policeman or layer who worked on her case look like a fool.

It's turning out to be a pretty rotten Christmas for the Saunders family. Having just moved to a new city from Los Angeles, they have no friends, no money and, with the exception of the bright-eyed Mary, no Christmas spirit. To make matters worse, their mother is stuck in L.A., stranded by airline overbookings. So, the Christmas shopping duties fall on Dad and the gloomy kids. Things start looking a bit more like Christmas when 12-year old Brian and 6-year old Mary find a satchel of money at the local mall and they launch a Yuletide shopping spree...that is, until the crooks who counterfeited the money chase them through the mall packed with holiday shoppers.

I know a gent that did police detective work in St Petersburg, Russia for a couple of years, mostly blackmarket stuff. One night over dinner he told me, "In St Petersburg everything is available. And you don't want to know what everything is". Eastern Promises has more than a little bit of 'everything'.

Some real edge of your seat moments in this instant classic. Set in dark wet, and noir London, Eastern Promises takes a look into a Russian Gangster mentality and culture with some scenes that will make both your skin crawl and your heart ache. This is one tough and nasty thriller. Not for the squeamish.

A twisted morality tale of family dynamics, gang loyalty and one possible way the Good Guys just might usurp the Bad. Every principal character etches a note that resonates true to the scale of the story. And its an excellent dark dark black hearted story full of places and people that you just hope this movie is as close as you ever get to them. Genuinely bad characters with such exquisite details that it doesn't feel like fiction.

Go see it. Pleasant nightmares!

This movie is VERY WELL worth going to see. In the tradition of movies like Bourne Identity, The Saint, Transporter...this movie follows along those lines. Great Plot lines and twist, which keep you wondering who is on what side and what will happen next. I am looking forward to a sequel to this movie because out of all the movies released this year, this one is very deserving of it. I went to see this without my usual intense research of trying to find out what the movies was about and who was in it and clips of the movie. I just went with a clean open mind, and I am glad i did. Sometimes when you go to movies with big expectations, you get a big let down. Other times if you go with an open mind, you get to see the movie as it is, and can view the movie without any preconceived ideals.

There's very little "good" in No Country for Old Men beyond the mesmerizing acting and viciously dark screenplay. Instead, the unholy trinity of temptation, cynicism and pure, dark, evil take center stage in this modern western directed by brothers Joel and Ethan Coen.

Based on the 2003 novel by Cormac McCarthy, the movie unfolds in the dusty Texas borderlands as hunter Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon the remnants of a desert drug deal gone bad, complete with a case containing two million dollars. Succumbing to temptation, Moss makes off with the money setting in motion a chain of events that leaves a trail of blood spattered carnage across the State as he is pursued by the ruthless, coin tossing hit man Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) among whose killing weapons of choice is a pneumatic air gun.

Bearing little in common with pretty much any previous Coen film with the possible exception of Blood Simple, No Country for Old Men is a dark, bleak, ode to the baser elements of the human soul, and a spit in the eye to the noble ones as well.

With a structural trademark hinging upon breaking the conventional norms of predictability, No Country is a movie that will unsettle you at successive turns - in the way deaths are dealt out; by its palpable tension that can almost be cut with a knife, and its periodic deviations from the narrative norm – the latter likely the only Coen brothers "quirk" for with their movies are renown.

Switching back and forth between the game of cat and mouse being played out by Moss and Chigurh and the investigation of unfolding events by cynical aging Texas Sheriff Ed Bell (Tommy Lee Jones), the Coens weave a web of dangled threads that one can't help but expect will be neatly tied together at story's end, only to tie them up in ways that buck the storytelling norm and manage to be both unsatisfying and true to their nature at the same time.

Unforgettable among this tableau is Bardem's Chigurh. The Spanish actor who has also appeared in Love in the Time of Cholera and Goya's Ghosts evokes the most amazing presence of a ruthless killer with his own twisted adherence to a bizarre code of ethics that nothing short of witnessing his performance can do it justice.

Sadly, however, justice is one of the few items in abundance in this movie. And yet, as unhappy as I am that the Coen's screenplay defiantly refuses to cater to the audience's inherent desire for satisfaction, I grudgingly have to admire them for opting for the unpredictable.

Consider the movie akin to one big coin toss – will it be heads or tales? Call it - you've been calling it your entire life.

I have never had the experience of seeing a 3-D movie before on the cinema, the only experience I have had with a 3-d film, only courtesy of some 3-d glasses coming free with a DVD, was Spy Kids 3-D, a movie while mildly entertaining isn't exactly the best film every to display the greatness of 3-d. So Beowulf today was my first 3-d experience, I went in expecting something good because of the 3-d, but I didn't expect the movie itself to be superb. Part of my reasoning behind this was because of the one and only experience I had had with Zemeckis and his new way of making movies. That movie was unfortunately the Polar Express, a supposedly happy tail that actually freaked me out more than most horror movies! So what an absolute delight to say that Beowulf not only works because of it being in 3-D (more on that brilliant factor later) but also the movie is a genuinely brilliant movie anyway. The motion capture isn't remotely creepy this time round and actually it seemed to make sense in some bizarre way as to why they did the movie like this. The actors surprised me big time, Ray Winstone delivering actually one of his best performances in a long while, Angelina Jolie playing the slinky seductress to perfection and Anthony Hopkins being a joy to watch on screen. Beowulf is an action packed, well written and entertaining piece of popcorn cinema. Just watch the dragon sequence near the end, every single person in my cinema was on the edges of their seat and looked in awe. The action sequences just amaze, and the dialogue sequences surprisingly really work as well. Unfortunately however if you see this movie in 2-D then you will not be experiencing Beowulf in my eyes, take off the 3-D this is a 9/10 movie, with the 3-D it gets the 10/10 rating with a blink of an eye.

erfect Stranger I had read really bad reviews of the movie on the internet and I was not sure whether I should go to see this movie or not. I had to choose between a 1918 Austrian silent movie and this. I chose this, just because it was a new movie.

The story is about a journalist – played by Halle Berry, who does sting operations on rich powerful businessmen. With one mission unsuccessful due to politics and power-play in not covering the sting by the news industry and she quitting her job; she pursues Harrison Hill – played by Bruce Willis – to expose the murder of her friend. She takes the help of her colleague Miles – played by Giovanni Ribisi. I would not disclose the expose and let the last frame suspense let out.

The movie is quite engaging throughout, and I found the reviews a bit harsh and lopsided. It is not such a bad movie as made out to be by film critics. The mystery quotient shifts from one character to another, I had guessed one when the murder took place, but due to the course of engrossing events and incidences – I lost that thought; only to re-emerge as the mystery I had guessed in the first place.

The ending was a bit lame, and there are lots of loose ends hanging. Halle Berry looks good and tries to act sincerely. At times she has captured some emotions perfectly. Bruce Willis does not have much to do and as usual he mumbles his way through the movie and at times displays his whimsical temper. The surprise pack was Giovanni Ribisi – as the colleague and close friend of Halle Berry – who has a huge crush on her and manipulates Halle's effort to solve the mystery.

James Foley – the director, lost the plot in the end, but leaves behind an engrossing story overall.

As a fan of the stage musical, I was worried that the film might not measure up - but they hit this one out of the ballpark! Bright, bouncy and joyously hilarious! A big smile hit my face as soon as it started and I didn't stop grinning until the end of the credits.

I haven't heard a press screening audience applaud after musical numbers since "Chicago" - and they cheered! The huge cast is uniformly terrific. Travolta, Pfeiffer and Walken are a hoot and Nikki Blonsky couldn't be more perfect.

The performances, script, lyrics, sight gags and costumes wage an all-out assault on your funny bone. Even the set dressing gets laughs!

This is the movie/video musical that Grease, Rent and Dreamgirls should have been.

Comment/Review
I'm always wary of saying that a film is excellent after only seeing it once, but me and my wife and friends have been talking about this film since we watched it.

Although extremely brutal in places this movie is one of the best British gangster titles i have seen in years now.

The story is gripping and the football firm fighting scenes although perhaps a little over the top with the blood make sorry titles like green street and football factories seem like a walk in the park.

I was extremely impressed with Terry Stone (known to those who have been in the rave scene as terry turbo) and as a fan of this genre was delighted to see some great bad boy actors from eastenders (jonny allen and dan for those who know).

A great take on a subject that has certainly been done before, but it was also nice to see the early rave scene being covered as well, something i'm sure as time goes by we will see a lot more of.

All in all if you are a fan of the genre i have little doubt you will enjoy this movie.

I have a feeling once it is released on DVD this will become a cult movie. And rightly so.

Comment/Review
Unearthed has a generic, by-the-numbers plot crammed full of the same old tired horror-movie clichés. It had no direction to speak of. The camera work was amateurish at best, and the dialog nearly incoherent. The camera was pointing all over the place, providing an occasional glimpse of something like a face, a vehicle, or a building. Most scenes were too dark and cluttered to make out anything clearly.

Don't even imagine that this stuff belongs in the "so-bad-it's-good" category. Those movies at least have some originality, humor (even if it's unintentional), and other qualities that make them stand out. They are the kind of movies that people remember, whether they want to or not. Unearthed has nothing worth remembering. I can barely recall even one single scene; the only thing I can remember clearly is waiting for it to be over. It seemed to drag on for several hours or more.

**WARNING THIS TELLS SOME PARTS THE MOVIE" it is not the point that the movie was funny it was just the acting was not like a regular movie acting good cameos like Jeremy Piven and Paul Rudd even Ludicrous lots of other cameos playing parts.

So the movie is about Katt Williams trying to have a bigger career like doing movies to make him more popular some parts are funny in the film one of the funniest scenes is the March Of The Penguins Parody scenes it was so funny and the part with the Chinese triplets 2 are skinny and 1 is fat.

During the movie they start doing some comedy in it the reason why i switched it to 5/10 to 7/10 was because it was worth watching i thought it would suck but Katt Williams was funny on the roast of flavor flav i thought to watch this you cant judge a movie before you see it that happens to me a lot so it is a worth watching comedy i was dying watching this movie it would be like the top 100 funniest movies like #91 but it was better than a lot of black comedies this year like The Caddy Movie, Norbit and other ones so it isn't just for black people im white but you know a lot of white comedians being cameos in the film one more thing i think i seen 1 of the girls from flavor of love in it this movie should not be watched EVER!!!!! by children they should have an UNRATED verison of it im serious but worth watching

I should very much like to begin by saying... to any fan of the books, this movie is like watching some rip-off that stole about... 3 ideas from the book. But, to anyone who is has not read the books, you may just like it.


As in most movies, there are a few flaws that cannot go without... well, absolutely hating. Let me ask you something. How often do you find exactly what you're looking for on a Google search?

I believe one of my favorite things about this movie was Alexander Ludwig, who plays 14-year-old Will Stanton. He gave so much to each scene, and I can only say that he is, without a doubt, one of the most amazing actors it has been my pleasure to watch, and I look forward to him starring in more movies in the future.

Another thing I very much enjoyed in this movie was the choice of music. I do not know why. I usually don't notice the music in a movie, but somewhere in the middle, I was lost in thought on how ridiculous the changes were when I suddenly noticed the music. Why, it was marvelous! It was so perfect for the scene, and I almost found myself tapping my foot (but I didn't because I was in a... well, actually the theater was almost empty, but it still would have been fairly embarrassing).

I was quite happy with the casting of the movie (with the exception of Ian McShane, who plays Merriman Lyon. I shall now loathe him for as long as he or I live. It's not that I do not respect him as an actor, but he was not fit for the role, and through some interviews I found that he didn't even want the role, which I find not only disrespectful, but also vexing and fairly stupid).

As in many book to movie adaptations, I could not understand most of the changes screenplay writer John Hodge insisted on making. It was not true to the book in any sense of the word, and I was very displeased with that aspect. But I will say, in and of itself, it was a fairly good movie, and I would recommend anyone to see it.

Ah, one last thing: Whoever was in charge of the lights needs to be shot.

The movie story starts with Prem (Salman Khan) who is a Love Guru and solves out love problems of everyone. He meets Bhaskar Diwakar Chaudhari (Govinda) who comes to Prem for help in his love life. Bhaskar loves his Boss Priya Jaisingh (Katrina Kaif) but unable to express his love to her as She is a 1,000 Crore INR owner's daughter. Listening to this Prem refuses Bhaskar to help and goes to Thailand. Bhaskar followed him there and managed him to help him. After coming back from Thailand to help Bhaskar, Prem meets Naina (Lara Dutta) a Photo Journalist who was running from some gangsters led by Chhota Don (Rajpal Yadav). Prem saved her and fallen in love with her. Meanwhile he started teaching Bhaskar how to impress Priya. But Bhaskar uses his own simplicity and non-sense acts to impress Priya. Priya finally falls in love with Bhaskar but didn't disclose it to Bhaskar. Prem one day finds out that Naina is a single mother and her son Rohan must be convinced to make him his son.Prem does it perfectly and Rohan started loving his future father very much. But suudenly Prem comes to know from Bhaskar that Priya is getting married to someone according to her father's will. They both comes to Priya's wedding ceremony with Naina and Rohan and Priya's father gets convinced by Bhaskar's acts and Prem-Rohans love guru tactics. Priya now gets ready to marry Bhaskar. Meanwhile a spoiled brat named Neel comes to Prem for love help and he asks Prem to convince a girl for one night stand. Prem gets angry with Neel and tells him that he does not help people who have such bad intentions. But Neel somehow manages one girl to share bed with later ditching her and telling her Love Guru gave him advice to do so. She was good friend of Naina and Naina started hating Prem and framed him and Bhaskar for ditching Priya. At last Prem makes up with Priya and Bhaskar and patches up with Maina and they gets married.On the honeymoon night Bhaskar aigain comes to Prem for help but this time they both gets mingled with their respective wives.

This film was OK for a film of its type if you do not expect to much. The Film has some good CGI of the Spiders and they look OK. Lance is a good choice for the doctor so he can do his made man thing again and is a good star name for the film. The rest of the cast are good for mostly young teen actors. The locations are good some island some ware but it looks good and makes a change from a lab or boring warehouse that you normally get in these kind of films. The Direction was OK if a bit slow moving. The sound is also good for Small movie and really helped the film along. The film is good for a small just don't expect to much from a small TV movie. Tim Burton's Corpse Bride was one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. My mother and I are so happy that he made another beautiful and original animated film since The Nightmare Beofre Christmas because we waited for it for 10 years. I'm glad to say that the wait was worth it. The Corpse Bride is a wonderful emotional yet fun story with heart. We had a wonderful time watching it in the theaters and we can't wait to go see it again this weekend. The visuals are so amazing that you'd have to go see the movie with your own eyes for its impossible to explain there perfection. The characters all look stunning and there are so many wonderful new characters in this movie that will keep your eyes glued on the screen. The voices of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Emily Watson are packed with fantastic emotion and acting. The score goes very well to the movie and the four songs that are performed sound wonderful. My favorites were "Remains of the Day" made me feel like dancing: it was such a jazzy fun song with the cool voice of Danny Elfmen. And my other favorite was "Tears To Shed" it broke my heart. Helena Bonham Carter sang that song with such heartbreak I loved it! The story is very entertaining and it has so much heart in it and Gothic like background. I loved the dialog some of my favorite lines were "Why Go Up There When People Are Dying To Get Down Here" and "Can A Heart Still Break Once It's Stopped Beating." But the most important thing is that this movie makes you feel less frightened about death. Death in this movie is a lot funner than living and the dead are always having a good time and partying that you feel like dying is not so bad. You should take anyone to see this movie if their paranoid about death it will soften their fears, Overall I strongly encourage anyone to go see this movie. I hope Tim Burten wins the Oscar for best animated movie this year. He truly deserves it! Thank you Mr. Burten for the Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas and years worth of your great films.

Anton Corbin has created a film that perfectly showcases both the music of Joy Division and the short but fruitful life of Ian Curtis. The choice to film in black and white was the right one. It sets the tone perfectly for Ian Curtis' gray and lifeless hometown of Macclesfield in 1973.

Corbin as a first time director excels utilizing his visual and technical skills from his previous life as a music video director. Thankfully Control is not just a beautiful looking movie but a perfectly pitched study of the rise and tragic fall of the tortured Ian Curtis. The intensity of the live music performances in the film are as visceral as those of the real band. It is a credit to the actors that they played everything live on screen, it serves to create memorable performances.

Sam Riley delivers a towering performance as Curtis. The first time actor is a name to watch. He is surrounded by a great cast but the film is carried on Rileys shoulders.His inner turmoil is conveyed with great humanity and realism. The audience was still and quiet for quite some time after the credits rolled at the screening I attended.

There are some very clever and touching uses of the music in the film. Corbin uses the intensity of Curtis' lyrics to help paint a biographical picture of the man. The use of 'Love will tear us apart' in the movie was particularly inspired giving the context of the scene it was played in. I hope you will go see this powerful and moving film to see what I am talking about.

Comment and review

This movie takes a long time to get going, and I frequently found myself throwing the bullshit flag. There are a lot of events which happen that just don't make sense and don't ring true.

Initially Wes Bentley irritated me, but eventually I got to like him and his character. He's pretty good at playing a dissociative psychopath.

Once the story got going it was easy to forgive the obvious mistakes and just have fun with it. The setting, a parking garage, is very cold and unforgiving. It's all concrete. That aesthetic helps set a tone that Thomas is going to be unforgiving. closed, and cold with people he doesn't like.

Angela (Rachel Nichols) doesn't suffer from stupid chick syndrome. She makes a few smart moves, and that makes it easy to root for her and empathize with her. You want her to kick butt, but Thomas is a pretty strong opponent.

This is a good one to sneak into after you watch a movie that you paid to see.

It's a shame more horror fans either aren't or can't see this movie, because it may very well signify a shift in the contemporary horror film (as of Spring 2007, when it was released).

The first "Saw" movie is usually seen as heralding a new direction and a new popularity in horror when it was first released and, despite the fact that the movie is principally a really twisty whodunit, it spawned dozens upon dozens of movies based on its essential formula: people (usually teenagers, often teen actors on their summer hiatus from their WB TV shows) in peril threatened with ghastly violence shown explicitly. The studios put any number of old movies into the remake machine in order to retrofit them with the new formula--and an R rating--to the point where these movies had the repetitive predictability of a Catholic mass.

Comment and review:

"Lucky You" is simply a nice romantic date movie without the thrills and complexity nor gimmicky twists that usually occur in the movie. It avoids the obvious stereotypes and plots and focus not on the game of poker but on the personalities, the feelings, impressions of the game. There isn't much deep here, the storyline pretty basic with a soft ending rather than a dramatic ending. For some, the absence of a lot of poker strategy and screen time on the plays can be a problem. For others however, the mindlessness of it and the romance, the moral story of it is clearly presented and becomes enjoyable entertainment. Seven out of Ten Stars.

Movies Review
Like 'Battle For Haditha', Brian De Palma is getting back to a very simple and direct style here, following a platoon of American soldiers in Iraq, shining a light on a very dark part of men's souls when placed into a situation where law and order do not exist. I loved the way this movie shows how this company of soldiers lives, while giving insights into the characters of these guys. I also really liked how the movie shows that the characters who do commit atrocities here are making a clear choice. Yes, war is a messy thing, but 'Redacted' isn't making the argument that war makes men do evil things; what it's saying is that given unchecked power, some men will abuse it.

This is a very brave film.

IMDB Comments and Review

Greetings again from the darkness. Very personal and intimate story from the very talented Adrienne Shelly. Ms. Shelly was tragically murdered before the film was released, but what a legacy and gift she left for her husband, daughter and film lovers.

Keri Russell ("Felicity") stars as Jenna, a fabulous pie maker who is a lost soul married to the world's worst husband - played brilliantly by Jeremy Sisto. She works at a diner with her two friends played wonderfully by the bubbly Cheryl Hines and the film's writer and director, Adrienne Shelly. The relationship between these three is very realistic, touching and entertaining. They love and cherish each other.

Outstanding support from Eddie Jemison ("Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen"), Nathan Fillian ("Serenity") and the great Andy Griffith, who has some great lines and definitely should work more often!! Jemison's spontaneous poetry capture the heart of Ms. Shelly's character and Fillian's Dr. Pomatter shows Russell what it is like to be adored, rather than abused.

IMDB Comments and Review

Before watching this I asked myself, why doing an "Omega" movie, just before I am Legend comes to the big screen. Is this supposed to be just another remake of The Omega man? Well, while watching it, I was still asking the same question to myself... And I could not answer it even after the cast rolled. Well, I enjoy end-of-the-world and post-apocalyptic movies, that's why I watched this title. But it seriously lacks originality. Casting and acting is in line with the budget, cinematography is quite weak, but the weakest point here is the screenplay, that once tries to be funny than in another minute it tries to be serious. The world as we know it has ended, after all, and the zombies are on the loose, for god's sake. Don't make the fancy move with the machete when you are one of the last survivors on Earth, just silence that damn creepy zombie

Movie Plot Outline :
The gang's vacation to Paris takes a wrong turn when Scooby and Shaggy miss their flight and end up on a skydiving expedition in the Himalayas. To make matters worse, upon arrival they must outrun the Abominable Snowmonster.

IMDB Comment:This was actually a pretty interesting movie. This was the last movie Joseph Barbera worked on, and it is thankfully the last one Sander Schwartz worked on. He was the one that ruined Scooby-Doo in 2002, and again in 2006. However, I'm quite happy to say that I liked this one. The "Pirates Ahoy" one was pretty good, despite being merely to cash into the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trend. When I first heard of this, I figured it was going to be another Snow Ghost/Creature/Demon terrorizing a ski lodge or something similar. But instead it has this mystical Indian thing about the snow monster, which is pretty unusual for the franchise. Also, Shaggy is thankfully voiced by Casey Kasem in this one instead of that Scott Menville like on "Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!" But Frank Welker probably needs to practice voicing Scooby; he still makes him sound like Brain, the "Inspector Gadget" dog he voiced (now we need Cree "Penny" Summer as Velma and we'd be all set!) One thing that made this rather interesting was that it focused more on Shaggy and Scooby-Doo than the rest of the gang! It could be because of the "Get a Clue" series, though the animation is not done in that crude Flash style but in the "What's New Scooby-Doo" style used for the 2004-present made-for-video movies.

Let me be clear here first of all: I'm in my twenties, and I saw Bratz, but not for any kind of simple lewd intentions at gawking at sexy teens in gobs of make-up and slutty clothes. My intentions were a little more pure, on a movie-geek level. Or rather, I went in with the expectation that it *would* be a bad movie, and even one that would go to such ridiculous lengths as to be awesomely bad, to the level of something like Ghost Rider, where by taking it seriously would likely provide brain damage, and by not would give some form of entertainment (especially if you have friends to make jokes with during the movie, which for something like Bratz it isn't inappropriate to 'ruin' for the rest of the audience). Movie Review
didn't know what to expect ... but at the end it's just another kind of a screw ball comedy. The first half hour is a collection of jokes from the basement (that means it couldn't get worse) then there is a slight improvement during the rest of the movie. Simple plot and simple characters. There is no way to write a spoiler because there is nothing to spoil.

I really like comedies but there wasn't any funny part I could laugh about.

I wouldn't say it's a complete waste of time, it's a movie you should watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon when you got nothing else to do. Watch it and forget it.

But I have to admit the "Cougars", especially Izabella Scorupco and Carolyn Hennesy, are eye candy .... great looking (that's why I give 4 stars instead of 0).

Review
As a fan of The Lonely Island, I went into this movie with high expectations. I can happily say that not only were they met but they were exceeded. This is by far the funniest, strangest and most ingenious comedy of the summer. The movie has some of the most random gags ever seen on film. This film is not for everyone: it has no stars and the comedy is very strange. But give it a chance and you will not regret it. The directing and editing of the film is both stylish and fast paced. Andy Samberg is hilarious as always but the supporting cast truly shines, particularly Bill Hader, Will Arnett and Ian McShane. Also look for an INSANELY hilarious cameo from director Akiva Shaffer. If you love the SNL digital shorts this movie is for you. Hot Rod is destined to be a cult comedy classic.author

Movie Synopsis
After history Professor John Oldman unexpectedly resigns from the University, his startled colleagues impulsively invite themselves to his home, pressing him for an explanation. But they're shocked to hear his reason for premature retirement: John claims he must move on because he is immortal, and cannot stay in one place for more than ten years without his secret being discovered. Tempers rise and emotions flow as John's fellow professors attempt to poke holes in his story, but it soon becomes clear that his tale is as impossible to disprove as it is to verify. What starts out as a friendly gathering soon builds to an unexpected and shattering climax.
Review
The film starts very simply with the main character John packing his truck, and then joined by colleagues of his who have come to wish him farewell. His colleagues, however, cannot help but express how puzzled they are about him leaving, since he has established himself very well as a professor and is well liked. Each time he is asked, John either avoids the question or gives an evasive answer. He eventually responds to them by posing a hypothetical question to the group (which by now have been established as Ph.D.s in fields including anthropology, biology, and history) about what a man would be like if he had lived since prehistoric times and had the appearance of the same age for sixteen-thousand years. This question starts an innocent discussion, but changes in tone as John implies more and more that the situation is not hypothetical. The forces of litigation have managed to defeat creativity once again.

A site that was prepped to showcase fan-submitted remixes of Nine Inch Nails' latest batch of songs has been put on hold after lawyers from the band's last label, Interscope, and Google and MySpace got their position papers in a twist. Long story short, Universal's been strict about Google-owned YouTube and MySpace posting uncleared copies of its artists' music on their servers. To avoid clouding the matter, Universal didn't want to give the impression that it's down with users using uncleared samples in their online creations, and pulled out of the remix project.

"Their premise is that if any fan decides to remix one of my masters with material Universal doesn't own - a "mash-up", a sample, whatever - and upload it to the site, there is no safe harbor under the DMCA (according to Universal) and they will be doing exactly what MySpace and YouTube are doing," Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor said in a statement.

For the time being, the remix site, which is launched to help promote the Year Zero remix album, Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D,, which arrived in stores yesterday (Nov. 20). The remix album will still contain master audio files for fans to utilize as they see fit, though, for the time being, Nine Inch Nails won't provide a place to show off your production skills.
